This page covers the personal Home Assistant integration used to connect Google Nest devices (thermostat, doorbell, camera) to a private, self-hosted Home Assistant instance for personal home automation.

What data is accessed: Device state and status (e.g. temperature, on/off, motion/doorbell events) from Nest devices authorized via the Google Smart Device Management API.

How data is used: Solely to display and control these devices within a private Home Assistant instance running on personal hardware, for personal household use.

Data sharing: Data is not sold, shared, or transmitted to any third party. It is not used for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond personal home automation.

Data storage: Device state data is processed locally on personal infrastructure. No data is stored on behalf of external users, as this integration serves a single household.
